Okay, so I know this picture is old, but I just can't take it down! Imagine the same kid, but walking, slim, and still gorgeous (and still covered in cookies)!

Galations 4:22-23

"For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise."

Children of infertility are special! They are a promise we hope for, and cling to, and trust in. Never again will we as parents take life, or even death, for granted. We have learned something about the sovereignty of our Lord; about trusting him in the midst of a crashing storm; about walking by faith and not by sight; about the preciousness of creation. We understand fully that it is with unmeasurable kindness and compassion and grace that the Lord gives us this gift of life. We know what a privilege it is to have God stoop down to us and work in us - in the bleak darkness of an empty womb - the miracle of His life-giving creative power.

These are not just children we wait for, but the very promise of God! We are not women with children born in the ordinary way; we are humble vessels, blessed by God with a promise that from our emptiness there would spring life!! Our children are promises embodied in flesh; they are grace, tangibly manifested in our lives. There is nothing more precious than that!
